Cage Warriors 39 Preview

UK MMA promotion Cage Warriors take their show on the road to Ireland this Friday for their thirty ninth event. The card is headlined by the UK’s number one female fighter Rosi Sexton as she takes on Sally Krumdiack. The rest of the card is filled up nicely with local talent.
Rosi Sexton vs. Sally Krumdiack
A high profile world class female fight headlines Cage Warriors 39 as Rosi Sexton takes on Sally Krumdiack. Rosi will be looking to rebound from only her second career loss which came at the hands of Zoila Frausto. The loss cost her a place in the Bellator women’s tournament of which was given to Frausto who went on to win it, beating Megumi Frausto in the final. Sexton has showed excellent grappling skills in her past fights with seven of her ten wins coming the way of submission. Sexton who is currently ranked 4th in The Fight Lounges super flyweight women’s rankings. Krumdiack is an American mixed martial artist with an 8-3 professional record. She was last seen in June beating Hiroko Kitamura by TKO in the first round, successfully defending the Legends title. Interestingly, Krumdiack’s three losses have all come by submission. Sally Krumdiack is currently 7th in The Fight Lounges super flyweight women’s rankings.
Aisling Daly vs. Molly Helsel
Another high profile women’s fight takes place at Cage Warriors 39: The Uprising as local favourite Aisling Daly fights American Molly Helsel. Aisling is coming off a loss from the first round of the Bellator tournament, which was the first of her career, losing via decision to Lisa Ward. Before then Aisling had pretty much dominated all of her previous opponents with only one of her wins coming by decision. Daly is a Cage Rage veteran, making her debut for the now defunct promotion in 2008, beating Aysen Berik by TKO within two minutes. Aisling Daly is currently ranked 5th in The Fight Lounges super flyweight women’s rankings. Molly Helsel hails from San Diego, California and has an 8-10-1 record. Although Helsel does hold a win over Lisa Ward (who beat Daly in her last fight) she has struggled against some of the top female competitors, losing to Roxanne Modafferi, Sarah Kaufman and Carina Damm. Whilst Daly is the more aggressive of the two and arguably has the power advantage [Helsel] may have the better submission game and always looks for the choke.
The rest of the card looks great and this should be a fantastic event. If you’re near Cork City we definitely recomend you make your way there and give it a watch!
