Thanks to the promoters of Controlled Aggression, they have asked the UK’s number one MMA news website - The Fight Lounge, to do the honours in choosing the “Submission” and “Fight of the Night” awards,
so here we go.
Submission of the Night
Submission of the Night goes to Brett McDermott for his wins via Submission (guillotine choke) at 2:15 in Round 1 over Dave Graham in the main event bout.
McDermott received a vicious high kick to the head that nearly ended this fight in just a few seconds of the first round but managed to recover quick. Once the fight went to the ground, McDermott stayed calm and composed and got Graham’s neck and finished him with a nice guillotine choke.
Fight of the Night
Fight of the Night goes to Dave Bull vs. Danny Missin. A great fight, Bull dropped Missin early in the first round but managed to recover nicely and look for submissions to end the fight. Add in the striking exchanges and the slam and the fight is certainly worthy of the award.
A great night of action, we can’t wait for the sixth event.
