Curt Warburton vs. Artur Sowinski – KSW 18
A lightweight battle has been added to KSW 18 as British UFC veteran Curt Warburton takes on young Polish talent Artur Sowinski.
News was revealed to The Fight Lounge by sources close to bout.
Curt “The War” Warburton will enter this bout with a professional MMA record of 8-3-0 and is a member of the world famous Wolfslair MMA Academy. In 2010, he made his debut in the world’s greatest mixed martial arts promotion, the UFC. Following a 1-2 run in the company, with a win over previously undefeated Maciej Jewtuszko and losses to Spencer Fisher (in an incredibly close affair) and Joe Lauzon, Warburton found himself cut.
Warburton fought at BAMMA this past December, where he defeated a highly rated Welshman in Tim “Super Human” Newman by unanimous decision in a fight of the night performance.
Artur Sowinski (12-5-0) is a veteran of the KSW promotion, having fought under the banner four times previously. Sowinski is currently 3-1-0 in KSW to date and the 24 year old fighter has shown that he does not like to go the distance, stopping 11 of his opponents; 5 by (T)KO and 6 by submission.
He is an extremely active fighter and has fought ten times in the past two years, with notable wins over the UK’s Paul Reed and UFC veteran Maciej Jewtuszk, the latter by knockout in just 46 seconds in his last fight.
KSW 18 takes place this coming 25th February and is headlined by a bout between Marcin Rozalski vs Jerome Le Banner.
