Diaz out, Condit faces St-Pierre at UFC 137

In a bizzare twist, Nick Diaz has been dropped out of the main event at UFC 137. Carlos Condit has been taken from his fight against B.J. Penn and given a welterweight title shot.
Following Diaz’ no show at yesterday’s press conference for UFC 137, it seemed the former Strikeforce champion was up to his old tricks.
Now, in a turn of events, Dana White announced today that he had dropped Nick Diaz from the fight against Georges St-Pierre and replaced him with the former WEC welterweight champion, Carlos Condit.
White also added that he hadn’t cut Diaz from the promotion, yet, as he is yet to talk to the fighter. Zuffa had paid for two lots of plane tickets to Vegas for Diaz, but the fighter never showed and has since gone missing and not answering his phone.
The Stockton native has been plagued with troubles throughout his career, he had been cut from the UFC in the past, had a win over Takanori Gomi in Pride overturned after testing positive for marijuana, and famously got in a brawl with Jason Miller in the strikeforce cage after Shields win over Henderson.
