UFC 210 has its headline bout, as Anthony Johnson is set to challenge Daniel Cormier for the UFC light heavyweight championship

Reigning champion Cormier made the announcement on Wednesday night’s edition of UFC Tonight, confirming the bout for the April 8th event in Buffalo, New York at the KeyBank Center

The rematch was originally-scheduled to main event UFC 206 in December last year, however the bout had to be scrapped when Cormier sustained injury and pulled out of the fight, with Johnson opting to wait for Cormier to heal rather than accept a fight in the interim

The fight is a rematch from their May 2015 title fight, in which Cormier downed Johnson via third round rear-naked choke submission to win the then-vacant UFC light heavyweight championship

Champion Cormier, thirty seven years of age, has an overall mixed martial arts record of 18-1, with the one blemish on his record being a five round unanimous decision defeat to former champion Jon Jones

Thirty two year old Johnson is in his second UFC tenure, and holds an overall mixed martial arts record of 22-5 with notable stoppage wins over the likes of Alexander Gustafsson, Jimi Manuwa, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Ryan Bader, and is currently on a three fight winning streak

Previously announced for UFC 210 is a middleweight contest between contenders Chris Weidman and Gegard Mousasi, news of which can be read HERE
