Eiko announce four man tournament for Eiko 4
North East based promotion Eiko has announced that it will hold a four man amateur tournament on its next show with a superb prize, flights and a weeks free training at Team Quest in Thailand.
The tournament will be in the welterweight division and fought using the unified amateur rule set.
Promoter Richard Ince explained the concept to us.
“The tournament will follow a basic tournament format in that there will be two semi-finals and then the winners of those fights will meet in the final. Each fight will be 2×3 minute rounds however if, after the two rounds the fight is declared a draw, there will be a third round to determine a winner.”
“We at Eiko are dedicated to help in the development of fighters, both professional and amateur, and we believe this tournament will help develop the amateurs involved greatly.”
“Amateurs are a big part of the sport and the right development is needed in order for them to go onto become great professional fighters and this tournament, as well as the great prize, will help do just that.”
Eiko returns 5th May this year and as well as this great tournament concept they are working on putting together a great fight card featuring some top talent in both the professional and amateur ranks.
Eiko 4 takes place 5th May from LQ Night Club in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England.
