A lightweight fight has been added to this May’s UFC 160 as former number one contender Gray Maynard looks set to take on TJ Grant.

Having failed in two attempts to become champion in 2011, Gray Maynard (11-1-1-1NC) is looking to build himself back up to another shot at the gold. He began his journey back to a title shot last June when he defeated Clay Guida in what would be a very frustrating fight for himself. Maynard is one of the division’s best wrestlers and despite having only two finishes in his entire career, he has shown than he does have power in his hands.

Since making the move to 155lbs 2011 following some inconsistent form at 170lbs, TJ Grant (20-5-0) has looked a completely different fighter. As a lightweight he is undefeated and in each of his four performances at the weight class he has looked more and more impressive each time. His most recent victory saw him use crisp striking to dismantle the tough Matt Wiman.

UFC 160 takes place 25th May from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and is expected to be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Cain Velasquez and Antonio Silva.
