A light heavyweight fight has been placed in the headline spot of UFC on Fuel TV 9 as Alexander Gustafsson welcomes former Strikeforce champion Gegard Mousasi to the UFC.

One of the fastest rising fighters in the sport, Alexander Gustafsson (15-1-0) will not have any plans on letting this momentum stop. After being submitted in his second UFC fight by Phil Davis, he has returned stronger and has looked much better ever fight since. He showed that he has the ability to take on the world’s best last April when he outclassed Thiago Silva and then again last month when he defeated “Shogun” Rua. He is a superb finisher of fights and has finished twelve opponents, nine by (T)KO and three by submission.

Entering the UFC for the first time in his career, former Dream and Strikeforce champion Gegard Mousasi (33-3-2) will be keen to show why he has been considered one of the world’s best for years. Mousasi comes to the world’s biggest organisation in superb form having only been defeated once in his last twenty two contests. A former professional kickboxer and boxer, he obviously has excellent striking but he is also a black belt in Judo and this has helped him become one of the most well rounded fighters in the light heavyweight division. He has finished twenty nine opponents, with eighteen coming by (T)KO and eleven by submission.

UFC on Fuel TV 9 takes place 6th April from the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
