The UFC heavyweight champion will be defended at UFC 211, as reigning titleholder Stipe Miocic will take on former champion Junior dos Santos in the main event of the May 13th event

The championship bout will headline the May pay-per-view event, with UFC scheduled to take place at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas

The fight is a rematch from a December 2014 bout in which Brazilian dos Santos bagged the victory via five round unanimous decision over American Miocic in the main event of ‘UFC On Fox 13’ at the U.S Airways Center in Phoenix

Champion Miocic, 34 years of age, will be looking to successfully defend his heavyweight title for second time having downed Alistair Overeem in his first title defence back in September, defeating Dutchman Overeem via first round knockout

33 year old dos Santos, currently ranked 4th in the UFC heavyweight division, is coming off a five round unanimous decision win over Ben Rothwell in his last Octagon outing and has gone 3-2 on his last five bouts

Also signed for UFC 211 is another heavyweight tilt, as former divisional champion Fabricio Werdum will return to action as he faces Ben Rothwell in what may serve as co-main event of the May 13th event

The fight was originally slated for UFC 203 in September last year, however the fight had to be cancelled when Rothwell sustained a knee injury and had to withdraw from the bout
