A lightweight fight has been added to this March’s UFC 158 as John Makdessi looks set to take on Daron Cruickshank.

Fresh off what could be considered the most important fight in his career, John Makdessi (10-2-0) will be hoping to stay in the win column. After a two fight losing streak Makdessi entered his last fight in a must win situation and earned a victory over Sam Stout. He is a former professional kickboxer and those world class skills have served him well in his mixed martial arts career to date. He has finished seven opponents in his career with all of his stoppages coming by way of knockout.

A member of The Ultimate Fighter: Live’s cast, Daron Cruickshank (12-2-0) has been in impressive form since coming to the UFC. He is currently undefeated in the promotion following a victory over Chris Tickle at the TUF: Live Finale which he followed up with the devastating knockout of Henry Martinez last month. A black belt in taekwondo, Cruickshank has some excellent striking skills and possesses a lot of power in his strikes also.

UFC 158 takes place 16th March from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and is expected to be headlined by a welterweight title fight between Georges St. Pierre and Nick Diaz.
