After the homophobic comments UFC lightweight Nate Diaz made on his Twitter account towards UFC bantamweight Bryan Caraway regarding Caraway being rewarded the UFC 159 bonuses that were taken away from recently suspended fighter Pay Healy, the UFC have decided to suspend Diaz pending internal investigation.

After Pat Healy failed his UFC 159 post-fight drugs test, testing positive for marijuana, the UFC 159 Submission of the Night bonus of $65,00 were then taken away from Healy who was first awarded them, and instead awarded to Bryan Caraway, for his third round guillotine victory over Johnny Bedford.

UFC lightweight and younger brother of former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz didn’t agree with the UFC’s choice to take the bonuses away from Healy and award them to Caraway:

“I feel bad for pat Healy that they took a innocent mans money and I think the guy who took the money is the biggest Fag in the world” Tweeted Nate Diaz via his official Twitter account.

These comments made by Diaz didn’t sit well with the UFC and UFC President Dana White, who said Diaz would either be fined and suspended or cut from the promotion for that Tweet. The UFC also made a statement saying they were aware of the situation and were looking into the matter.

Now it seems the UFC have decided to suspend Diaz pending internal investigation:

“We are very disappointed by Nate Diaz’s comments, which are in no way reflective of our organization. Nate is currently suspended pending internal investigation and we will provide further comment once the matter has been decided,” the UFC announced in a statement.

It’s not fully clear as of yet if the UFC have fined Diaz and what further punishment he will receive, however, Dana White told US journalist Dave Meltzer that the UFC would ultimately decide Diaz’s full punishment when he returns from Germany on Friday.
