Former Bellator announcer Jimmy Smith has signed a deal with the UFC, less than a month after leaving his position with Bellator

The UFC and Smith himself confirmed the news today, with Smith commenting via Twitter:

‘Honored to be a part of @UFC and getting to call the biggest fights in the world! Can’t wait to get to know everyone there and show how hard I can work’

It’s expected that American Smith will make his UFC debut during UFC 220 as part of the Fox Sports 1 coverage of the event, with the event taking place on January 20th from Boston, Massachusetts

The veteran announcer parted ways with Bellator two weeks ago, with the split being mutual and amicable with the two sides failing to reach an agreement over monetary compensation
