The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), have officially released the list of cast members for The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season eighteen, which will see the reality TV show make history as for the first time in history, TUF will have two women as the head coaches, Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate, as well as the tournaments actually featuring both men and women.

Earlier this year it was announced that for the first time in UFC history that The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) would see two top ranked women feature as the head coaches on the reality show, which sees fighters compete in a tournament with the winner being awarded a UFC contract. The head coaches for TUF: eighteen were originally UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey and Cat “Alpha” Zingano. However, this all changed when Zingano was pulled due to injury and replaced by Rousey’s adversary Miesha “Cupcake” Tate. TUF: eighteen had another significant difference to its predecessors as for the first time both women and men would participate in the reality show.

UFC President Dana White has stated how this season of the realty TV show The Ultimate Fighter has been monumental.

“This season of The Ultimate Fighter was monumental, as we had women as coaches and competitors – fighting and living together with the men – for the first time ever.”
