UFC 215 has lost its main event, as title challenger Ray Borg has been pulled from the card due to illness he had been suffering from in the previous few days before Thursday evening

The news comes just over 24 hours before the Vancouver event on Saturday night, with the UFC opting to also pull flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson for the event as rather than find a replacement on 24 hours’ notice

After being examined by UFC doctors, the decision was made to remove Borg from the bout as the challenger has gotten progressively worse health-wise over the course of this week

The new main event will be the original co-main event of Amanda Nunes defending her UFC women’s bantamweight title against number one contender Valentina Shevchenko, while the new co-main event will the welterweight bout between Neil Magny and Rafael dos Anjos, which was originally slated to be third from the top of the card

Henry Cejudo verses Wilson Reis at flyweight, originally scheduled for the preliminary card, has been moved to the main card

Champion Johnson was aiming to make a record-breaking eleven title defences, eclipsing the hall of fame-bound Brazilian Anderson Silva who defended the middleweight championship ten times before dropping the 185lbs title in 2013 after a seven year tenure as middleweight champion
