A middleweight fight has been added to this March’s UFC on Fuel TV 8 as Hector Lombard looks set to travel to Japan to take on Yushin Okami.

The news of this fight was revealed by ufc.com.

Former champion of Bellator Fighting Championships, Hector Lombard (32-3-1-1NC) will be looking to bring the momentum from his last fight to Japan with him. After an unsuccessful debut which saw a twenty five fight unbeaten run ended by Tim Boetsch, Lombard returned emphatically last month when he stopped Rousimar Palhares. He is a former Judo Olympian and also possesses a black belt in BJJ but it is his outstanding striking and knockout power that has earned him notoriety in mixed martial arts.

Hoping for a more successful return to his home country this time around, Yushin Okami (28-7-0) brings with him an impressive two fight win streak. He returned to Japan last February for the first time in six years but was stopped in the final round after dominating the majority of the fight. He too is a Judo black belt with knockout power but has a totally different style of fighting to Lombard and is known for being able to mentally break and suffocate his opponents.

UFC on Fuel TV 8 takes place 3rd March from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan and is expected to be headlined by a light heavyweight fight between Wanderlei Silva and Brian Stann.
