The injury bug has stuck again, this time forcing Australian George Sotiropoulos out of his proposed fight with Takanori Gomi. Newcome Eiji Mitsuoka takes his place.

The news was revealed today by MMAWeekly.

Japanese mixed martial artist Eiji Mitsuoka (18-7-2) is an eleven year veteran of the sport who has fought in such promotions as Pride FC, King of the Cage, Deep, Sengoku and Dream.

Mistuoka has beaten some notable names in his career to date, including Gleison Tibau, Joachim Hansen, Clay French and Bruno Carvalho. A great grappler, Mitsuoka holds a fantastic eleven submission wins on his record and will be looking to add another to the list when he faces off against the former Pride champion – Takanori Gomi.

UFC 144 is headlined by a lightweight title fight between Frankie Edgar and Benson Henderson. The card also features a bout pitting Quinton “Rampage” Jackson against Ryan Bader.
